用圖表說故事（2）

第二章利用80個圖表來舉例說明，如何變化圖表，讓圖表講故事。原則類似前一章講的，但是就在這些案例中，做許多的變化。

作者提醒，要注意刻度，去不同區間，就會影響圖表的呈現效果。

component comparison： show the size of each part as a percentage of total.

item comparison: show ranking of items.
－item 可以是城市，部門，地區，問卷選項，
－bar 也可以呈現橫向堆疊不同的子項目
－bar 也可以比較2個時間下的數量
－偶而用column 來呈現不同的item，但很少人用

time series comparison: show changes over time
-若要比較兩個部門在過去5年每一年度的營收，可以用overlapping columns 來呈現；
－若要比較比較長時間，例如12個月的變化，則可以用line/curve
－長條圖與折線圖混用，長條圖呈現營收，折線圖呈現成長率

frequency distribution comparison:show how many items fall into a series of progressive numerical ranges

correlation comparison: show whether or not the relationship between two variables is as expected

這80個案例，提供常用的一些創意呈現方式，值得參考。
