new low power technology

I met a new startup with the technology to save the power.

Its technology is like this below.

A sensor like wearable or temperature sensor that A ompany makes. It is embedded with  a software developed by A company.

A wifi receiver ( maybe notebook, mobile phone ) that with wifi receiving capability and made by an OEM (like lenovo, acer, asus). It will be installed a SDK that is provided by company A. 

When the wifi reciever login to Wifi AP and receive the wifi signals, the receiver will transmit the signal to the sensor. When the sensor receive teh signal, it will start to charge itself and transmit data to the receiver periodically.

The merit is the charging technology that supports the  sensor to endure its battery life.

The product will be ready in 4 to 6 months later. 

It will use the 2.4G Wifi spectrum.

Its business model is to charge the license fee from the sensor and receiver OEM vendors. 

It is interesting.
